Showcasing the best in food, beverages and produce from across the region, Nosh is being held on August 26 and 27, with three big events and three hotly-contested competitions over the two days.
The main Nosh event, the Food and Wine Expo, is being held from 12pm to 5pm on Saturday August 26, at the parklands behind the Crossing Theatre, on the banks of Narrabri Creek. Some 40 exhibitors will showcase food and beverages from across the region, and the creators who grow or make them.
“From locally-produced fish and yabbies and organic fresh vegetables, gourmet handmade cookies to pale ales – Nosh Narrabri has it all,” says president Darrell Tiemens.
“Sample a pickled cherry, snack on a selection of macadamia and pecan nuts, and select your favourite olive oil to take home. Entry to the expo is free and open to all, and Narrabri is just down the road. Come on over and bring your friends and family!”
Exhibitors include Maitland’s Hunter Valley Cookies, Gungal’s Falcon Grove Oils, Kingston’s Merilba Estate Wines and New England Cider Co, Mudgee’s Linda’s Chilli Relish, and Narrabri’s own Narrabri Fish Farm and Whipped… Baking for Allergies, among many others.
The Expo will also feature three major competitions: the Australian Regional Homebew Championships, the Great Australian Cheesecake Competition; and the Nosh Cook Off – where local teams will compete for the ultimate crown: king (or queen) of the BBQ.
Following the Expo, the ‘Nosh On’ Night will kick off at 6:30pm, featuring local entertainment and fireworks, followed by headliners Mental As Anything.
The market square will be converted to a family-friendly concert space where visitors can bring their own picnic blankets and grab a space near fire pits for a night of entertainment. General admission tickets are just $45, with VIP tickets at $100.
