Sixteen businesses on Heber and Balo Streets have joined forces to organise the Christmas Shopping Night and will stay open from 5pm to 7pm tonight, offering a full VIP retail experience with complimentary champagne and nibbles.
This is the first year a Christmas Shopping Night has been open to all local businesses – previously a small group on Heber Street had participated in a similar initiative.
As a result of the street Christmas Carnival being moved to Ron Harborne Oval, all local businesses were invited to stay open for the shopping evening this year.
The idea of the night is to encourage people to shop after work, accommodating those who may otherwise not get a chance to finish their Christmas shopping during business hours.
Friends are also encouraged to get together for a cool and pleasant evening of retail therapy.
“We’re working together to encourage local shopping, keeping the local dollar within the town,” participating business owner Dibs Cush from Robin’s Nest for Children said.
“It’s been so hot, so come out in the cool of the evening and enjoy a glass of champagne and nibbles. Bring your friends and pop in after work.”
Participating stores include The Moree Gallery, Robin’s Nest for Children, Moree Frame and Art, Bramhall and Miles, Wise Words Bookshop, La Maison Rose, Ruby Soles, Stephen Sparke Jewellers, Wisteria Boutique, PR Interiors, Gifts on Heber, My Store, Tittle Tats, A Tasty Surprise, Shoe Elegance and All About Lifestyle.
