Official opening - February 15
8.30am Kirkby Park – Free barbecue breakfast
9.30am march from Kirkby Park to Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre for official opening and Mayoral welcome.
10am – 1pm Free entry for children and adults who march, non-marching adults to pay normal pool entry fees. Barbecue lunch will be provided.
Freedom ride in pictures - February 16
Moree Plains Gallery photo exhibition featuring a collection of photos captured by the Tribune newspaper during the historical 1965 Freedom Ride (photos kindly donated by Search Foundation Exhibition) will run for three weeks.
Moree library - 10.30am
There will be a display of Freedom Ride materials held by the library and morning tea will be provided.
Documentary screening - February 17
Blood Brothers - Freedom Ride will be screened at 7pm at the banquet hall. This documentary is about the 1965 Freedom Ride and Aboriginal campaigner Charlie Perkins. The movie was made by his daughter Rachel, giving it extra intimacy. It will feature footage and comments by locals from Moree and Walgett. Light finger food will be provided.
School movie screening - February 18
Moree Secondary College Multi-Purpose Centre will screen the movie for students and community members. There will be two sessions at 10.30am and 2pm. Contact Crystal Duncan on 0417 272 173 for more information.
Big breakfast - February 19
There will be a ride to remember and big breakfast at Pius-X from 8am. Locals are invited to join the staff for breakfast and listen to special guest speakers from the original ride Zona Moore and Eddie Pitt. For more information contact Pius on 6752 1099.
Golf, recreation tour, concert - February 20
Breakfast will start at 7am before shotgun at 8am. The competition will be a four-man Ambrose off nine holes. There will be a $15 entry fee which includes breakfast, lunch and a further nine holes if players would like to continue after presentation.

From 1pm the Moree Freedom Ride Re-Creation Tour by the University of Sydney will start.
In Balo Street the procession will start from the Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre to the town hall followed by a community forum to meet original Freedom Riders.
At 5.30pm a free community concert featuring Troy Cassar-Daley and Paul Kelly will be held plus much more at the old leagues club (Salvation Army in Anne Street).
Bowls day - February 21
A bowls day, triples, will be held at the Moree and District Services Club from 9am.
There will be morning tea and a draw. It will be $10 per person and numbers are limited. For more information contact Raymond Dennison on 6752 1099.
