The celebration took place at the Max Centre’s chandelier ballroom, as students from Boggabilla, Collarenebri, and Mungindi Central Schools met for the last time to receive awards and accolades.
Unfortunately, the two young ladies from Goodooga were unable to attend the night, due to a Sorry Ceremony.
The young women and men of the hour presented themselves to their teachers, family and friends in a beautiful array of colour and style.
During the course of the presentations, medals were received by Peter Adams (Collarenebri) for a Commitment to Improvement; Michael Williams (Mungindi) for Excellence in Vocational Education; and Morgan Mathew (Mungindi) who was awarded the Academic Achievement medal.
Morgan also gave the valedictory speech on behalf of her fellow graduates to all the attending guests.
All schools shared accolades, as students from all schools came first in various other courses.
The address to the students and guests was made by Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries who gave encouragement to the school-leavers to continue to follow their chosen dream, recognising the challenges of being educated in small, isolated communities, and that a quality education can be found in small schools.
The staff members of the four schools wished the students all the best for their futures.
