Surfing legend Mick Fanning has paid tribute to his older brother Edward who has died in Madagascar.

It is the latest family tragedy for the Australian surfing great who lost his other brothers Peter and Sean in 2015 and 1998 respectively.
Fanning said his brother 'Ed' was the one who introduced them all to surfing, "the joy and freedom of riding a wave".
"Ed, love you my brother. You taught me so much over the years about everything that life could deal up," he said in an Instagram post.
"Ed you had the biggest heart and were too loyal for your own good.
"Always sticking up for the underdog and caring for those who needed help."
He said his brother had been teaching kids how to surf and thanked his family and friends in Madagascar who "showed him happiness is real".
"We just loved Ed. The larrikin who would throw a shaka in every photo and would scream yeeeeew at the top of his lungs," Mick said.
"As you dance down that final road into that eternal sunset please know we all love you mate."
Mick's eldest brother Peter Fanning died in his sleep from heart failure, aged 43.
After finding out the news in the morning Mick went on to compete in the 2015 Pipe Masters world title in Hawaii, placing third.
It came six months after his frightening encounter with a great white shark during a surfing competition in South Africa.
His other brother Sean was killed in a car crash on the Gold Coast when he was 20-years-old.
