A nine-year-old girl has died in a quad bike accident as age limits for the popular adventure sport come under scrutiny.

The girl was thrown from the bike while travelling as a passenger in Jarrahdale, 45 kilometres southeast of Perth on Saturday.
The bike was travelling along a popular mountain track in Langford Park when it rolled about 5pm, police said.
The girl died from her injuries at the scene.
A 34-year-old male rider was taken to Armadale Hospital with minor injuries.
West Australian Premier Roger Cook described the circumstances surrounding the girl's death as "dreadfully tragic".
Asked by reporters if the age limit for quad bike riding in the state should be reviewed, he said he would look at the regulations and consult police.
"Quad bikes are a great adventure apparatus but need to be treated with a great deal of respect and care," he said.
Investigators have asked anyone with dash cam or mobile phone vision relating to the crash to come forward.
