The club's zone followed advice from the state and territories' bodies, and therefore all official events and competitions organised by the club will be suspended until further notice.
"We need to be socially responsible, as a result of all those directions, based on the medical advice, we have taken it on board that for all bowls that we can control we will no longer have," Moree Bowls Club secretary Wes Macpherson said.
"That unfortunately does include potentially our tournaments that we host because we do attract players from Melbourne, South Australia, Queensland.
"We haven't taken this decision lightly but....as we have members in the high risk categories, we need to be socially responsible and not organise things that potentially will put people in harm's way."
Macpherson said they will be reviewing the situation every fortnight, with social bowls that are held on Wednesday nights also finishing up early.
While formal events are no longer happening, the club is still open and people are more than welcome to visit to play bowls socially.
"The club is open for business, however, despite formal bowls competitions and tournaments being postponed, the club is still open for business and the greens are being maintained and prepared," he said.
Moree Little Athletics Club has also been forced to cancel the remainder of its club nights, after receiving advice from Little Athletics and the NSW Health Department.
Additionally, the club will no longer be running the athletics carnival in conjunction with Moree Plains Shire Council as part of youth week as well as the presentation evening, with both events being postponed.
