This year's event will be held on Sunday, March 1 and will be focusing on the Mehi River from Dr Hollingsworth Bridge on Edward Street to Dr Hunter Bridge on the main street, helping to restore our local waterways and riverbanks to their former glory.
Volunteers are meeting in the Tourism Moree car park to collect their recycling and waste bags and safety equipment before setting off along the Mehi River cleaning trail. A free barbecue will provided to participants following the clean-up.

Council's director of planning and community development Angus Witherby said that Clean Up Australia Day is a perfect opportunity to join with family and friends to help remove the rubbish in an important corridor of Moree.
"This is a great opportunity to make sure one of the most attractive places in Moree can be enjoyed for its natural beauty, free of rubbish," he said.
"In the Moree Plains, our waters are such an important part of our Shire. Our waterways are an important contributor to this.
"The Mehi River is a section of the Gwydir catchment and is a part of the largest and most complex river system in Australia, which is home to many of Australia's unique flora and fauna.
"Aside from improving the amenity of this corridor, pollution has a major negative impact on the health of the waterways so efforts this year for Clean Up Australia Day will be concentrated here to make sure that rubbish on our river banks does not find its way into this system. I invite all community members to join us for the first day of Autumn to lend a hand during our Clean Up Australia Day event!"
This event is open to all community members and suitable for all ages however parental supervision is required for children under 16 years old.
Volunteers will be provided with Clean Up Australia Day Clean Up kits but should wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring hats and sunscreen.
