On Friday night, August 30, at the Moree Services Club, the Boars celebrated their achievements both on and off the field throughout 2019.
In a season where numbers looked ominous early on, the Boars managed to get all three teams in the finals, with the under-18s just two points away from a title.
In that side, Latrel Newman was named Best Back while Corey Ricketts won Best Forward. Top Points Scorer was Adrian Smith, the Max Scott Award for Most Dedicated went to Luke McDonald, Branden Barker secured the Coaches Award and Jock Brazel stole Rookie of the Year.
Smith took home both Players Player and the under-18s Best and Fairest on the night.
For the ladies league tag, who suffered a heartbreaking extra time loss in the preliminary final, Best Links went to Linda Smith and Deborah McGrady while Tileah McGrady and Stacey McIntosh were named Best Middles.
Lena Smith was the Top Points Scorer, Most Dedicated went to Courtney Connors, Sasha Olsen won the Coaches Award and Colleen Fernando took home Rookie of the Year.
Aleah Peckham won big on the night, securing Players Player and the ladies league tag Best and Fairest.
A grade were just minutes away from a preliminary final before a last minute field goal ended their 2019 season, but there were still plenty of achievements to recognise.
Joe Wade was named Best Back while Best Forward went to Jackson Fuller. Stan Swan was the Top Points Scorer, Dion Dahlstrom won Most Dedicated, Anthony Smith took home the Coaches Award and Adrian Smith snagged Rookie of the Year.
Rodrick Smith and Anthony Hancock shared the Critics Corner Bob Hitchens Award while Hancock also stole Players Player.
A Grade Best and Fairest was awarded to Vincent Green.
The final award for the night was the presitgious Alf Scott Medal, which was won by Ben Taylor, who was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the club.
Alf's daughter Sue made the trip to Moree to present Taylor with his medal.
