The Glen Innes Magpies league tag team returned to their best form on Sunday with a dominant display against the Moree Boomerangs.
The Magpies held a 20-nil lead at half-time and posted a further 20 points in the second stanza to round out 40-4 thrashing.
It was a free-flowing Glen Innes attack followed up with a gutsy effort in defence and coach Andrew Hodgson was rapt with every aspect of the performance.
"That is how I wanted them to play," he said.
"That is how I expect them to play week-in, week-out.
"They had it from training earlier this week that they wanted to perform this weekend so credit to them, they all turned up."
Hodgson was happy with his side's defence and said it was a lapse in concentration which cost them a perfect shut out.
"The only thing was their [Magpies] mistakes that got them [Boomerangs] into the game, that got that try," he said.
"I am very proud of each and every one of them."
The win marked the Magpies third for the season and Hodgson is hoping the trend can continue.
"We have a full complement of players back, we were travelling earlier in the season with one or two reserves, we have got five or six now," he said.
