The taping of the teachers, at recess on Friday, June 21, was to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society's 2019 winter appeal.
"This is our major fundraiser for the winter appeal," organising teacher Mary Davison said.
For a gold coin donation students could wrap a teacher in a length of tape, until eventually all teachers - Mr McCallum, Miss Russ, Mr Clark, Miss Moore, Mr Powell and Ms O'Neill - were suspended to the poles they were taped to.
Last year the school raised about $500 from the teacher taping.
Students have already raised about $450 for the winter appeal this year, through the selling of milo before school throughout this month.
Also on Friday, students dressed in the Vinnies' colours of blue and white or in an outfit #dressedbyVinnies for a gold coin donation. For those who had spare silver coins, they could also get temporary tattoos, wristbands, raffle tickets to win Vinnies water bottles and magnets.
With the longest night of the year set for this Saturday, June 22, students were encouraged to organise their own sleepout on Friday night, giving them a glimpse into the realities of 'sleeping rough' for a night to raise awareness and funds for Vinnies' homelessness services.
Students are also encouraged to bring in recyclables for the Return and Earn scheme, with all funds to be added to the total fundraising. The class that collects the most recyclables will win a prize.
All money raised by the school will go directly to the Moree St Vincent de Paul Society.
"Winter is a particularly tough time of year for people who rely on Vinnies to get through," Mrs Davison said.
Each year St Philomena's raises funds for the St Vincent De Paul Society, with the Mini Vinnies and Secondary SVDP Chapters organising the fundraising activities.
