Up to 2,000 people are expected to converge on the small Mallawa community for the popular June long weekend event, which will feature six races and plenty of entertainment throughout the day and night.
Mallawa Amatuer Picnic Race Club secretary Ed Seccombe said there will be plenty of entertainment on offer for both young and old.
"We're going to have face painting for the kids and a little children's area, with a sandpit for the kids," he said.
"We've got a band, Trace from the Gold Coast. They'll start at 5.30pm until 10pm. We've got the Lions Club cooking lunch down there."
Gates open at 12pm with the first race to begin at 1pm, with betting on local and metropolitan races available as well as ATM and bar facilities.
