Saturday’s victory marks the first time both Kookaburras and Mornington have tasted victory on the same day since October 20 2012.
Australia has had five prime ministers in the time since both sides saluted on the same day.
Milne said he “wasn’t too surprised” by how long it had been since both sides tasted victory simultaneously.
“I guess it just goes to show that if you have a few players out then the competition becomes closer,” Milne said.
“We have both had our tough times I suppose, so it is good to win one.”

Milne was in fine touch from the outset and had an undermanned Court House outfit looking for answers on his way to a run-a-ball 78.
Along with Beau Clarke (31), Milne helped establish sure footing for Kookaburras innings, with the side eventually posting 9-167 from their 40 overs.
“I think the toss really told the story,” Milne said.
“We won and it made the world of difference because the pitch became more and more difficult to bat on.
“I was pretty lucky, I didn’t have too many balls misbehave on me throughout my innings, but I certainly saw a few of the other boys cop deliveries that did.”
Ben Irwin was the best with the ball for Court House, claiming 3-28.
“Benny tried his hardest like he always does,” Milne said.
“However, I think everyone in our side batted well, they did their jobs and we batted out our 40 overs, which was pleasing.”
In reply, the eight-man Court House side was unable to mount much a fightback, with Ben Haire’s score of 15 being the side’s best.
“I don’t think we bowled terribly well but sometimes that’s all you need,” Milne said.
“The pitch seemed to worry them a little bit and I think that probably played into our favour a bit.
“From there we started to get the run of luck that we have been missing in recent weeks and we were able to wrap up the win.”
Milne said his side would take a lot of confidence out of Saturday’s win.
“The boys are improving every week, which is all you can ask for,” he said.
“This win and the win against Mornington earlier in the season, will keep us in the hunt for the one-day cup.
“No doubt there’s still a lot of work for us to do, but I think we can do it.
“Next week’s game against Albion will be a big one because we will have a few players back and so will they.
“So it should be a good challenge for our boys.”
