Around 60 players and friends of the Moree Suns AFL Club wrapped up a stellar season with an awards presentation on Saturday evening.

The combination of good people, a few special awards and a spectacular cake topped off 2018 for the relatively new sporting club.
In the men’s category Patrick Montgomery took out best newcomer while Phil Inglis was named most improved.
The 2018 leading goal kicker was Zach Collier and Ash Jones was named players player.

Daniel Brown, who was absent on the night due to competing in cross country in the USA (story to come), was named best and fairest.
Meanwhile, in the women’s category Naomi Clements was named best newcomer.
Piper Phillis was named most improved and Shea Mitchell was the 2018 leading goal kicker and best and fairest.
Belle Brazel was named players player.
Best newcomer for the juniors was Lindsay Vandriest while Corey Baker took out most improved.
Daniel Brown took out leading goal kicker and best and fairest, while Will Caccianiga was named players player.

Secretary Annette Hadley said a photo wall was set up for people to view and select photos of themselves taken throughout the year.
“We asked for donations so we could do some fundraising for the club. We are looking to do more to help the club regroup after the fire at the clubhouse,” she said.

The lucky door prize, donated by Harvey Norman, was won by Daniel West.
The club thanked major sponsors, the Moree Golf Club, for their support throughout the season and being accommodating with a venue.
