Schools from around the region sent their best rugby league players to the field today, to stake their claim at the Moree & District Zone gala day.

Years five and six students from Warialda, Mungindi and Moree Public School and St Philomena’s School Moree went head to head in the round robin tournament.
The Legends of League was divided into two pools, with a boys league separate from the girls league-tag.
“These are games with modified rules and field space,” Mr Taylor said.
Each team had seven players, and each group played four, 15 minute games on a miniaturised field.
No doubt, the competition brought the best of the best young rugby league players to the field, but there was only room on the top of the podium for one team or, in this case, two.
“The two winning teams will go to the northwest region finals at Gunnedah,” NRL Development Luke Taylor said.
