Alex and Ava Macey, Gabbie and Chloe Elbourne and Ben Di Donna have each qualified for the event, which will see the best swimmers from regional NSW compete for a chance at the state titles.
Ava and Chloe will both be competing in the 10 years 100 metre breastroke event, while Ava has also qualified for the 50m breaststroke.
Alex will also be competing in two events – the 13 years 100m and 200m breastroke.
Gabbie has qualified for the 12 years 100m backstroke and Ben will be competing in the 10 years 50m freestyle.
To qualify for the NSW Country Championships, the Moree swimmers had to make the 2018 qualifying times at one of the many Swimming NSW carnivals they’ve travelled to throughout the season.
“Just to qualify is an amazing achievement for these kids,” Moree Amateur Swimming Club secretary Tammy Elbourne said.

“It’s a commitment every weekend for the kids and their families to go to carnivals.
“These kids train every morning, five times a week. It’s a big commitment.”
Ms Elbourne said for the swimmers and their families to even get to Sydney this weekend will be a big effort, as four of them will also be competing in their school district and diocese carnivals, to be held in Moree and Armidale respectively, on Friday.
Each of the five swimmers said they are looking forward to competing in what is considered a fun meet with country kids.
“It’ll be really good,” Alex said.
The NSW Country Championships will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from Friday, February 23 to Sunday, February 25.
