LOCALS Keeley and Bronte Hobday made the journey to Sydney with their grandfather Kevin to take in the Sydney vs the Broncos NRL game and take in old war history at the MacArthur Museum while they were there on the weekend prior to Anzac Day.

The MacArthur museum held a map written in Japanese that included Mungindi on it, indicating just how close the war had made it to their homes.
It was a sombre realisation for the girls.
The Hobday’s great grandfathers from both sides of the family were war veterans.
Mr Hobday’s first time visiting Suncorp Stadium was made even more special by John Williamson singing True Blue in tribute to war veterans.
A member of the South Sydney Rugby Club, Kevin took his granddaughters to meet the players.
“We got our photo taken with Greg Inglis as he used to play at our local club, Norths Devils,” the girls said.
