As a part of the festival, the students will perform for the community, showing off their array of talents.
This is not the only thing Moree East Public School has been doing to better itself.
Along with the transformation with Connected Communities, the school has started working with community groups to create opportunities for the children and their families. The students have been working with local elders also, to get back to the basics and learn more about their culture. Dance has played a big role for the students, regularly performing for exhibitions at the Yaama Ganu gallery.
The students are able to dress-up and paint themselves to prepare for their traditional, Aboriginal dance. But, recently some of the students featured in the Schools Spectacular where they were able to show their talents to a wide audience and even scored a feature on NITV.
All of these wonderful things are not only great for the community but also the stigma that lay around Moree East Public School, proving it is and continues to be a great school.
