Students and their families arrived and the night kicked off with a PowerPoint presentation of photos and fun from throughout the year.
The night was hosted by 2018 school captain Angus McPherson with the assistance of year 5 students Gordie Cooper, Ruby Stewart and Allira Stolzenberg.
The night commenced with the National Anthem and year 2 student Audrey Cooper doing the Acknowledgment of Country.
The K-2 class performed a musical number called The Welly Boot Song followed by New South Wales Public School Education director, Mr David Crowe, giving his address.
Mrs Vivianne Fouracre gave her principal’s address, followed by the P and C report, presented by P and C president Mrs Kim Kirkby.
The ukulele group performed their rendition of A White Sports Coat, accompanied by music tutor Mrs Mary-Anne McPherson and her husband John on guitar.

Sports captains, Allira Stolzenberg and Ruby Stewart, gave their sports report before Mrs Kirkby presented the sports awards.
Ruby Stewart, Angus McPherson, Chloe Gillogly and Max Gillogly all received certificates for their representation in athletics at regional level. Chloe also represented Bellata Public School in cross country at regional level and was awarded the 2018 Sportsperson of the Year.
Sports Captains for 2019 were announced. Chappell’s House Captain is Tyler Stolzenberg and Goolagong’s House Captain is Max Gillogly. Tyler and Max’s parents were invited to the stage to congratulate their children and to pin on their badges.
The small choir gave a lovely performance of The Call by Regina Spektor.
Angus McPherson gave his school leaders report followed by Mrs McPherson giving her creative arts report and along with Mrs Kirkby, presented the creative arts and library Awards. Angus McPherson received the Primary Creative Arts Award and Anna Morton and Audrey Cooper received the Infants Creative Arts Awards.
Mrs Kirkby announced the 2019 Library Monitors – Lachlan Miller and Boston Kirkby. Their parents were invited to the stage to congratulate their children and to pin on their badges.
Mrs McPherson had been working hard with a group of boys throughout the year learning the bongo drums. The group performed a great collaboration for the audience.
Class awards were presented next. Mrs Kirkby, with the assistance of Mrs Heather Langfield, presented the awards to the K/1/2 students. Mrs Fouracre was assisted by Mrs Shelli Morse to present years 3-6 with their awards.
The audience was treated to a short skit the students had been working on and judging by the applause and laughter, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Mrs Fouracre, with the support of Mr Crowe, presented this year’s special awards. The recipients are as follows:
- Library Award – Gordie Cooper
- Creative Arts – Lachlan Miller
- Mathematics Award – Angus McPherson
- English Award – Ruby Stewart
- Senior Science – Angus McPherson
- Junior Science – Andrew Stolzenberg
- History/Geography – Gordie Cooper
- CWA Citizenship Award – Allira Stolzenberg
- Dux of the School – Angus McPherson
The 3-6 class performed Mumma Mia by ABBA and was then joined by K-2 for the whole school performance of Count On Me by Bruno Mars.
Current year 5 students were invited to take the leaders’ pledge before outgoing school captain, Angus, had the pleasure of announcing the 2019 school captain.
Ruby Stewart was voted in as school captain. She will be assisted in her leadership role by vice-captains Gordie Cooper and Allira Stolzenberg.
Ruby, Gordie and Allira’s parents were invited to the stage to congratulate their children and pin on their badges.
The formal proceedings concluded with the presentation of the year 6 graduation certificate and mementos to Angus McPherson. The audience was treated to a slideshow of Angus and his adventures during his time at Bellata Public School.
