As Moree’s parkrun prepares to celebrate its one-year anniversary on Saturday, the local team have looked back at the achievements throughout the past 12 months.

The latest, a mobile defibrillator, to ensure all parkrunners have that bonus peace of mind when it comes to safety.

The group has been raising funds all year to be able to purchase the device.

The team received the special package on September 16 when two course records were set, for the male and female runners.

Brendan Jones and Xanthe Cogan respectively hold the new times.

On the same day, runners were treated with another special moment as they spotted a koala in the trees near the Moree Secondary College multi-purpose centre.

Everyone is invited to join parkrun on Saturday dressed in your best superhero costumes to celebrate the one-year anniversary.

And why the theme? “Because every parkrunner is a superhero”.
