The Richmond star, drafted from the Bendigo Pioneers with pick No.3 in 2009, was first and daylight second.
Technically it was Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield, who polled 33 votes, second but he was ineligible.
As well as winning the Brownlow Medal, Martin also gets the chance to become a premiership player on Saturday when his Tigers take on Adelaide in the grand final at the MCG.
