The beef community have been invited to Weebollabolla on July 31 for a field day exploring that exact theme.
Weebollabolla co-principal and Norland Pastoral director Jen Jeffreys said the idea of the field day evolved from a recent collaboration with NH Foods and the market re-positioning in the industry.
“We’re always looking at ways we can improve our business and opportunities to support the industry so we decided to share this experience by presenting a field day.
“We’ve added to this with a great line up of speakers exploring different aspects of red meat production that we think beef producers will be interested in,” Mrs Jeffreys said.
Four key speakers will share their knowledge with the beef community at Weebollabolla including:
Sam Newsome of Newsome Ag who will present ‘Trade Secrets: What do the top 20 per cent of producers all have in common’.
Afterwards, Sarah Strachan, MLA will discuss ‘How can carcase feedback improve performance’.
The topic focus will move after lunch to the NH Foods and Weebollabolla collaboration and producer opportunities on the back of this presented by Andrew McDonald, NH Foods.
Final guest speaker for the day will be Tom Bull of Lambpro, who will look at the redesigning of their sheep programs for profits and markets and what the cattle sector can learn from this experience.
Mrs Jeffreys will represent Weebollabolla and wrap up the field day.
“Today consumers expect a quality eating experience.
“...and the market is re-positioning itself so this collaboration with NH Foods is a natural alliance that will help to meet this burgeoning demand and open opportunities for other producers,” she said.
The Munro family’s history and proven Shorthorn genetics on Weebollabolla spans five generations.
“It’s been persistence and continued innovation that has seen our generations of our family through every challenge the Australian Beef industry has faced over our 144-year history.”
This year the Munro family is celebrating its 50th on-property Shorthorn bull sale on Friday, September 22.
Catalogue and footage will be available of bulls sometime in August through the website www.weebollabolla.com.au.
