The ball is the Moree Young Aggies’ key fundraising event and will be held on Saturday, August 5 at Moree Rugby Club.
Young Aggies is a group of young agricultural professionals from across the Moree district who are focused on building their engagement and network both professionally and socially.
This year, half of the funds raised from the ball will go towards the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which provides vital 24-hour emergency services to those that live, work and travel in rural and remote Australia.
The remaining half of the funds raised will go to the establishment and operation of the Young Aggies Scholarship, which is being introduced this year.
“Using the existing scholarship structure of our over-arching organisation, the Gwydir Valley Cotton Growers Association, we are excited to establish a scholarship aimed specifically at encouraging students embarking on an agricultural discipline at univerity to eventually seek employment in the Gwydir Valley,” Young Aggies committee member Fiona Norrie said.
“The scholarship will provide a bursary; subject to recipients spending a portion of their studies gaining work experience in the Moree region.”
Tickets for the ball go on sale this Friday, July 14.
Cost is $85 per person which includes a three course walk and fork menu and a complimentary drink package.
There will be a raffle and auction on the night and entertainment will be provided by Golden Child. Dress is black tie.
