The U8’s entered two teams and played six games all together.
“We had three wins out of the six with both teams performing well. The attack was been good this week with some great team tries. Defence is still mixed and we need to work on it still,” coach Damien McCormick said.
Best defensive efforts from Thomas O’Shea and Roger Vickery. George Tighe, Josh Slacksmith and Alex Warby all had very strong games. A special mention to Harry Guest who stepped up his involvement.
The U10’s also entered two teams playing three games each. They won all games on the day with all players playing exceptionally well.

Moree one took to the field first up managing a great win after a committed Walcha side started and played strongly. Next up, Moree one played Narrabri two. Moree one won over a younger Narrabri two side. Moree one’s beat Scone one in their final game.
Moree two played Inverell, Coonabarabran and Scone two. It was great to see them come away with three wins. The hardest game of the day was against Coonabarabran.
The final game of the day for Moree two was against Scone two. From the outset, Moree had the upper hand and showed that their forward pack was out to cross the line many times during the game.
Special mention must go to Fred Finlayson, Bill Barwick, Jack Gall, Tom Vickery, Angus Manchee, Jack Gobbert, Caleb Scholl and Lachlan Maslin for executing their roles well within the team.
The U12s had a very successful day beating Tamworth, Inverell and Armidale. By far the best game of the day was against Armidale where Moree can out victor three tries to two. Moree scored a try in the last two minutes and then had to defend their line to keep Armidale out who were attacking strongly.
This game was very even and there was a huge amount of feeling and effort from both teams. Standouts were Archie Matthews and Jake Mitchell, Hugh Keen and Billy Finlayson.
The U6s had a skills day two of the NSW Rugby Development Officers. The competition takes a break for the school holidays.
