The school hosted their annual NAIDOC Week awards to recognise the achievements of staff and students for their dedication and commitment in Aboriginal education and culture at Moree Secondary College.
Students in each age group were nominated by their teachers and out of the many applicants four for each age were selected to be honoured.
In Year 7 Cody Picker, Cody Abrahamson, Simran Singh and Lucy Cater were honoured.
Logan Strangways, Thomas Marchant, Teri Kirkby and Jamira McKellar were chosen for Year 8.
In Year 9 Malu French, Jayden Reeves, Jorjie Warrener, Joann Styles and Alyssa Duncan were honoured.
Tyson Green, Shanika Hippi, Bailey Smith and Dakota Ayre were chosen for Year 10.
In Year 11 Will Hawker, Jayden Gallagher, Jayden Hunt and Caitlyn Storey were the lucky recipients.
Lastly, Rhys Smith, Kiyalee Duncan, Brodie Dawson and Celine Depczynski were honoured from Year 12.
Special recognition awards were given to Jermaine Smith, Dakota Barlow-Griffiths, Desi Slade and Amarlee Pitt.
Five staff members were also chosen to be recognised for their contributions including:
- Non teaching staff members Beth Livet and Karlie McGrath
- Teaching staff member Matt Trainor
- New staff member Rose Baron
- Aboriginal Staff member Zac Sampson
