Each year, bowlers choose whether to support the NRL’s Rabbitohs or Dragons and play on behalf of their dedicated team for the shield.
Regional Australia Bank branch manager Bronte Egan said the day couldn’t have gone better.
“The overall charity shield was won by the Dragons team lead by Michael King. His sister, Robyn, presented him the shield,” she said.
However the day could be viewed as a win for all with the individual winning team of the day, Rhonda Vanbest, William Vanbest, Catherine Vanbest and Katie-Anne Warner, supported the Rabbitohs.
“The Regional Australia Bank work in conjunction with the brother and sister duo Michael and Robyn who are both devoted supporters of their beloved teams Dragons and Rabbitohs, and as you can imagine the rivalry on the day is always fierce,” Ms Egan said.
The day raised just over $2000 for Fairview’s Alzheimer’s and Dementia Unit in Moree.
On behalf of the bank, Ms Egan thanked sponsors who donated prizes for the event.
They included: Southside Butchery, Balo Square Bakery, Beauty Matters, Woolaway Wines, Domino's Moree, Landmark Moree, WMG, BP Moree, FMBC Moree, Gifts on Heber and Moree Services Club.
