Terrence Lloyd was last seen on November 24, 2015, in Goondiwindi, according to the national missing persons database.
His damaged black RAV4 vehicle was located near Gwabegar in the Pilliga Forest about 150km south from Narrabri but family and friends have not heard from him since his disappearance.
This week’s land search involved a number of team members from different SES units, including two Gunnedah volunteers on Wednesday and three on Thursday.
It was reported police dogs were also involved as well as a local Rural Fire Service unit, searching an area near Gwabegar.
A NSW Police spokesperson said renewed search was not related to any specific information or new developments in the case.
Police on the scene described State Emergency Service members as the “backbone of the operation” during the co-operative task west of Gunnedah.
