Moree Race Club is calling for expressions of interest from community groups to help out at this year’s Twilight Christmas Races.

With the popular race meeting continuing to grow, the committee decided to formally advertise for helpers.
“We decided this year, because it is getting to be such a big race day and there’s only 12 people on the committee, we need to outsource those jobs and put that money back into the community,” Moree Race Club’s Michelle Gobbert said.
“It’s a good way for groups to come in and make some money in a short amount of time.
“It’s also taking jobs away from us that we would normally have to do.”
The jobs include pre-race set up on Friday, December 16 from 12pm to 5pm ($1,000); ticketing/scanning on Saturday, December 17 from 1pm to 5pm ($500); race day cleaning – two shifts 2pm to 5.30pm and 5.30pm to 9pm ($750 per shift); car park supervision from 1pm to 5pm ($500); food stall from 6pm ($300 donation); and post-race clean-up on Sunday, December 18 from 8am ($2,000).
