WITH two very full weeks of events, Moree’s NAIDOC week is gearing up to be one of the biggest yet, and The Moree Champion is looking for your help to share each moment.
If you’re attending any NAIDOC week events from July 1, share your photos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #NAIDOCNW to join our regional gallery.
You are also invited to send information about your NAIDOC events to moreechampion@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
Moree can expect 26 community events next month, with more being held at local schools. Starting with a snooker competition at the Moree Services Club on Friday, July 1, Saturday’s bowls day is sure to be booked out once again.
The week officially kicks off on Monday, July 4 with a street march, flag raising and official opening, starting from 9am at the Dhiiyaan Centre.
A sports day will follow at Boughton Oval.
Other events to keep an eye out for include Tuesday’s NAIDOC Talent Quest, Wednesday’s cultural gathering and Friday’s golf tournament.
The Moree Plains Gallery will be full of activity, with an exhibition, kids activities and a weaving workshop.
An Elders campfire dinner, discos for all ages, a trivia night and poker night will top off the celebrations.
