A partnership with NRMA Insurance has provided the funding to allow the purchase.
“Our first aid training has to keep up with nationally recognised competencies and having the skills required to perform CPR on babies is an integral part of our training,” SES North West Region Learning and Development Officer, Wes Macpherson, said.
Acting NSW SES North West Region Controller Andrew Galvin thanked the volunteers for their dedication to their communities and congratulated the NRMA on their support.
Acting Unit Controller Jo Williams of Moree said they could not wait to try out the new equipment.
“We all have young children and or know people with young children and having these training aids will make us all better prepared should we ever need to perform CPR on a baby.”
The NRMA Insurance Community Connect program supports NSW SES volunteers and their community engagement work to ensure our communities understand their local risks and empower them to prepare for events to protect life and property.

“We live in this community as well and knowing that we have the support of such generous volunteers giving up so much time to make us safer makes it a pleasure to be able to provide grants such as this,” Moree NRMA manager Wendy Woods said.
Since launching the program in 2012, NRMA Insurance Community Conn-ect has invested almost $200,000 into 105 projects across NSW.
It has also recognised some exceptional volunteers who have worked with their community and developed strong relationships and networks in their local area to encourage collaboration and shared responsibility.
The Moree SES Unit is always looking to recruit new members.
