The 23-year-old travelled to Nambucca Heads on Saturday for a cruiserweight fight with a Casino opponent.
“He started well and dominated the first round. So much so, the referee had to stop the fight at one point and apply the standing eight count,” Danny Cheetham from the Moree Boxing Academy said.
“In the second round he was far too strong for his opponent.
“After a brutal knock down in the second round the referee called a halt to it and Jack was declared the winner by knock-out,” Danny said.
Jack only started fighting back in November last year, winning his first bout in Dubbo.
The Nambucca victory takes it to two wins and one loss for the six-foot-four battler.
“He’s a good, tally boy with long arms. I believe if he stays focused I think he could go on to be an elite athlete and have a huge future,” Danny said.
“”He’s very keen to start fighting professionally down the track. I don’t see any reason why he can’t make the transition in about two years’ time.”
His team, consisting Chalky Rice, Paul Davis, Jason Humphries, Jake Hetherington and Danny, are now working toward his next challenge which could be in Bathurst on April 16.
For the Moree academy itself, the club are in the preparation stages for their annual tournament, likely to be in October this year.
