Gurley president, Natalie Christie, said riders from Narrabri, Dirranbandi, Mungindi, Gravesend, Upper Horton, Moree and Gurley competed in a number of events during the day.
“The day was terrific, the weather was fantastic and it was great to see some many competitors,” she said.
Over the few days, riders competed in highest point score, best presented horse and rider, hack classes, riding classes, most suited pony club mount, pleasure hacks, handler classes, and sporting events including Gurley key, western pole bend, scuddahoe, square jump, barrel race and point to point.
“The best part of a day like this is getting all the children together from different clubs.
“It is great for them to interact and meet new friends with the same interests.
“Being a small club we rely on members of other clubs to assist on the day, and we thank them for that.
“This was our final club day for the year and we look forward to starting again in February- March.”
The results of the Gurley Pony Club Ribbon Day will be printed in the following edition of the Moree Champion.
