Bowlers took their shots on the 35 metre long green, with waiting bowlers sitting under the shade, cooling off from the burning sun.
Moree Men’s Bowls Club media officer, Wes McPherson, said friendly games were held between the two teams who had “bristling talent”.
“Game consisted of 21 ins and three bowl triples,” McPherson said.
The team lead by Ray Dennison, Brett Smith and Gary “The Duck” Bergin won out on the day 22-20.
“We would like to encourage anyone who is interested in joining to come and join in.”
“Men and women, all ages and all abilities, are welcome to join with coaching available to novice players and new players to the game.”
As daylight saving has now started, social barefoot bowls will commence at 6pm for a 6.30pm start, every Wednesday at the Moree District and Services Club.
“People want to be able to come to bowls through the week and are working, or it would be dark,” he said.
“This now gives locals the opportunity to get involved or join in socially.”
