Narrabri had the home ground advantage, beating Moree in second and third grade.
Moree’s first grade played a strong first half leading Narrabri 27-14 at half time. A few players suffered from head knocks and Moree dropped off the pace and Narrabri worked their way back into the game.
Bulls coach, Simon Hall, said they need to have more control.
“If we can control the game more we will improve,” Hall said.
“We defended well for the last 10 minutes and hung on for the four point win.”
Stand out players were Ben Carrigan, Alex Corliss and Joe deDassell.
Moree won 30-26.
Second grade suffered a loss to Narrabri, 15-7.
Moree had high hopes but didn’t show it.
Bulls coach, Matt Moore, said the boys were very flat.
“The boys didn’t play to their potential,” Moore said.
“We didn’t show much enthusiasm when we had the ball.
“We didn’t show how we have been playing the rest of the year.
“Narrabri played a strong game and ran away with it.
“Narrabri had a lot to play for they had to win to make the semi-finals.
“Chris Clyne came on in the second half and played really well.”
Other stand out players was Nick Smith and Ben Jackman.
In third grade Moree Bulls were also beaten by Narrabri 28-19.
Moree will play Narrabri away again in the major semi-final in two weeks.
