Chris is one of many of our teachers who go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the next generation has the best start in life possible.
He is an outstanding example of a teacher who never clocks off, and is a role model both in the classroom and the community.
But he is by no means the only one.
In the Moree Plains we are blessed with plenty of teachers who really care about their students and who work tirelessly to help them realise their dreams.
Teachers are the first to cop flak when they are seen to be lazy or not interested in engaging with the community.
So when they not only become active members of the community, but local leaders, we should give them a standing ovation.
Chris has also shown how effective sport and other activities outside the classroom can be in engaging children in the classroom.
We have also seen that in Moree, with the fantastic efforts of teachers involved in the Moree Secondary College’s rugby league program and the dancing and cultural programs at Moree East.
That’s just to name two examples.
The good news is that the achievments of our schools, their staff are too many to list individually in this editorial.
