Mr Humphries, the Minister for Natural Resources, Land and Water, and Western NSW, saw off a challenge from Labor’s Craig Ashby.
With 54 of the electorate’s 55 booths counted on Sunday, Mr Humphries had secured 46.5 per cent of the first-preference votes.
Independent candidate Rohan Boehm, who campaigned primarily against coal seam gas development, pulled 17 per cent of the vote.
A redistribution after the 2011 election saw Moree moved from the Barwon electorate to the seat of Northern Tablelands.
In return, the Labor stronghold of Broken Hill was added to the electorate, which covers 44.5 per cent of NSW
