“Put it this way, the two days leading up to the show are very good for weight loss!” Moree Show Society president Brendan Munn said. “It’s months of pre-arranging and organising by everybody on the committee.”
All that hard work was recognised when he received the Best Community Event/Organisation award on behalf of the society Monday morning at the Australia Day ceremony.
Wife Karen, also the society’s secretary, said the aim was to promote Moree Shire’s produce as well as to show everyone a good time.
This year coinciding with 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings meant the show would be marked by a return to old fashion events.
“There will be snigging on horseback and horse tricks as well,” she said.
