This was the trophy for the highest point scoring team and was presented by zone eight life members, Jenny and Clary Dunn.
Winning was a historical moment as it is the first time ever the club has won and it all happened on the home grounds while also hosting the zone eight jamboree.
It was not the only historical first for the club which also won the Collins Family Shield for the highest point scoring senior team.
The club was formed in March 1968 and hosted its first jamboree event for zone eight in 1970. This year was the sixth time the club has hosted jamboree in its 46-year history.
The win was particularly special as Noel Williams and his family were in attendance to witness the event.
The club was so proud to have Noel on hand for the presentations who is not only a club life member and patron but also zone life member.
Throughout the years since the club began it has been situated at “Cwmteg” Garah and has been able to utilise the facilities on the property.
Organisers said they were fortunate to have the Williams family’s support not only with the grounds but in assisting with campdraft instruction, camp cook and judging.
The club organising committee would like to say thank you to the Williams family, to all its members for ensuring camp week ran smoothly and efficiently and for putting on a jamboree to remember.
“We could not have done it without our great team – members, riders and contributors,” said a representative of the committee.
The riders involved in this year’s jamboree included Will Malone, Hayley Hancock, Harry Oates, Meg Gillan, Cassie Southern, Ellie Adams, Millie Malone, Amy Egan, Chloe Makim, Jim Gillan, Mitchell Houldcroft, Phoebe Oates, Arrabella Oates, Joe Ticehurst, Rachel Makim, Toby Mather, Morgan O’Dempsey and Justin Egan.
“Also notable at the jamboree was the riders who then presented the club musical ride to the zone upon completion of events. It was a spectacle many will remember this year’s jamboree for. We are a very proud club,” the spokesperson said.
