The swimming season is just around the corner and those who want to improve their swimming skills are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming registration days on September 10 and 12 between 3.30pm and 6pm.
Treasurer, Tammy Elbourne, said the main focus of the swim club was fun and development.
“We have young swimmers from about the age of four up until 17 or 18 who are members,” she said.
“The young ones get in with a noodle and swim 15 metres and everyone encourages them, and then they go up to 25m and then 33m. It’s about development.
“You don’t have to know every stroke and we’ve found children get more comfortable in the water the more they get in. There’s no pressure on anyone.”
Elbourne said once the season started there would be Thursday sessions every week from 6pm after the school holidays.
“If anyone is new to town and are a good swimmer they can join and will be assessed before they progress,” she said.
“We encourage families to take part; you don’t have to be a superstar.”
She said all four strokes were covered in the swimming lessons including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly.
If swimmers can not make the two registration days they should get in touch with Tammy via mobile 0428 573 350, email moreeamateurswimclub@gmail.com or search on Facebook for Moree Amateur Swimming Club.
