An investigation is underway after a Rugby Union official was allegedly knocked unconscious while officiating at a game in Bingara at the weekend.

Police were called to Gwydir Oval, Bingara, about 2.30pm Saturday after a touch judge was allegedly punched by a player who’d been sent from the field.
The 49-year-old man lost consciousness and was taken to Bingara Hospital by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.
Officers interviewed the injured man in hospital later that day. He has since been released following tests.
An investigation is now underway into the incident.
Police intend to speak with a man, aged in his 40s, who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the assault and has not yet spoken with police is urged to contact Moree Detectives or Crime Stoppers.
Police are appealing for anyone with vision of the alleged assault to get in touch.
