Coach, Louise Ricketts, said she was hopeful it would not occur again this weekend when they clash with Glen Innes in a sudden-death semi-final.
“It was probably triggered from me because I know I was nervous,” she said.
“This weekend we need to focus on the game, treat it as just another game and forget about last week.”
Ricketts said the main focus for the game on Saturday would be defence.
“If we defend well it’s important. The first try in semi-finals are so important because if you get that, it calms everyone down,” she said.
“We’re expecting a tough game this weekend though because Glen Innes are the premiers from last year so they’ll have all guns blazing. We need to be ready for that.”
Despite their semi-final appearance the under 14 side haven’t had everything their way in 2014, with a change of coach halfway through the year.
“Since we took over, the commitment from the boys has been phenomenal,” Ricketts said.
“We started the season with about six boys who had never played rugby league before and we slowly climbed our way up the ladder.”
Ricketts said this weekend could be the last time a lot of the players would be playing together.
“We’ll probably lose a couple next year to boarding school,” she said.
