Store manager, Lachlan Stewart, said each individual Coles store was raising money for a charity called Redkite who assisted with travelling, accommodation and education for cancer patients.
“We were selling these raffle tickets, and we still have $2 cards you can buy. Plus, for every loaf of Coles bread bought five cents will go towards Red Kite,” he said.
Local man, Claude Magarry, helped out the cause by selling the tickets.
He said he sold around $2600 worth of tickets, but the stories he heard during the five days of selling made it all worth the effort.
“I heard of a 12-month-old who had to get a bone marrow transplant and there was one other who had to get a kidney removed and his sibling gave him one of his.
“It’s really sad hearing these stories but to know that I am helping children in those situations make it worth it,” Mr Magarry said.
A Huggies children’s pack was third prize, which was won by Haylee Dixon, while Justin Norrie took out second prize which was a musical mat.
The winner of the big puppy dog was Norma Buckland.
