FOUR TEENAGERS believed to have been involved in a police chase at Moree have appeared in court.
The four were allegedly found hiding inside a Tamworth home and arrested after police were called to reports of stolen cars and break-ins.
The four co-accused - aged between 13 and 17 - cannot be named for legal reasons, but fronted Tamworth Children's Court on Monday.
Police allege a Nissan ute and a Volkswagen Golf were stolen when two homes were broken into on Ibis Street in Calala, Tamworth, just after midnight on Monday.
A short time later, officers said they spotted several people jumping into the Volkswagen after police found the white Nissan ute dumped on William Street in West Tamworth.
The Volkswagen was allegedly driven off and police gave chase, but the pursuit was called off due to safety concerns.
Oxley police officers homed in on a Tamworth house as part of their investigations and said they found four teenagers hiding inside about 1:30am.

The four co-accused - a 13-year-old boy, two 15-year-old boys and a 17-year-old - were arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station, where they remained ahead of their court appearances.
Police further allege a chase was sparked a day earlier in Moree, after a black Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to stop for officers in Chester Street just after 4am on Sunday.
Police believe the car had been stolen from a Tamworth home earlier that morning.
All four teenagers were charged with being carried in a stolen car.
Three of the four teenagers - aged 13, 15 and 17 - were charged with breaching bail conditions they already had.
The 15-year-old was further charged with break and enter, receiving stolen property, having goods suspected of being stolen, drive in a manner dangerous and dispose of a vehicle.
The other 15-year-old was also served with two warrants connected to alleged property and firearm offences.
The police union and community leaders have been crying out for more proactive police officers to be posted to the local command to combat the property crime problem.
