The Australian Government allocated Moree Plains Shire Council $1.56 million through Phase Two of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) program.
Moree's six netball courts at Ron Harborne Oval will be reconstructed with $680,000 in funding.
They'll receive new surfacing, line markings, netting and lighting.
Meanwhile, $300,000 will assist funding phase two of the Mungindi Tennis and Netball Courts upgrades.
The works include new court structures, surfaces, line markings and fencing.
Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, said both sporting complexes have been in need of upgrades for some time.
"These upgrades will bring the netball and tennis courts up to scratch, providing the Moree and Mungindi communities with safe, smooth surfaces so that they can get back to playing these popular sports," Mr Coulton said.
Moree's netball facilities and Mungindi's courts are in poor condition due to years of use and weather, especially water damage caused by flooding.
Council's General Manager Lester Rodgers, said "The Moree netball courts are home to the Moree Netball & District Netball Association and currently they can't use the premises as authorities have deemed the area too dangerous for use.
Currently the association is sharing the basketball courts at the PCYC, so we are very eager to get the project underway."
The remainder of the $1.56 million will fund athletics upgrades at Boughton Oval, pedestrian safety works in Balo Street and upgrading shared walking and bike tracks around Moree.
