* Key moment: Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans scored in front of his hometown crowd in Mackay off a set scrum play, extending the 12-0 lead by six after just 18 minutes.

* Key stat: Despite finishing fourth, it was the first time all season Manly have beaten a top-five team.

* Injuries/suspensions: Roosters winger Matt Ikuvalu was put on report early in the first half for late contact on Tom Trbojevic after the star fullback had passed the ball.

* What's next? Manly go through to their first preliminary final since 2013 and face South Sydney at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
