On Tuesday evening (August 3) officers attached to the NEPD Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a Moree residence. Stolen property and a quantity of cannabis was seized from the residence following an arrest on Tuesday afternoon where a 34-year-old man was charged in relation to break-ins at commercial premises between April and July this year including two churches. Whilst the local man was refused bail to appear at Moree Court today officers will continue their enquiries into related offences.

In the past week 15 offenders have been charged; four warrant offenders arrested; 11 offenders issued with Court Attendance Notices and two search warrants executed for offences including property crime, domestic violence, drugs and traffic.
The arrests included:
- Wednesday afternoon a 14-year-old male was charged with Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, Use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road, Negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm) and Motorbike rider (alone) not wear/secure fit approved helmet after he was identified as the rider of an unregistered trailbike in Moree. The local youth was granted strict conditional bail until his next appearance at Moree Children's Court on August 17;
- Thursday afternoon police executed a search warrant at a Moree home where a 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with Aggravated break & enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there, Be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner and Possess prohibited drug. The Toowoomba boy was granted strict conditional bail until an appearance at Moree Children's Court on September 6;
- Friday morning a 14-year-old male was charged with Be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner and Drive conveyance taken w/o consent of owner. The local youth was granted strict conditional bail until his next appearance at Moree Children's Court on August 17; and
- A 38-year-old male charged with Possess housebreaking implements, Enter enclosed land not presc premises w/o law and Armed w/i commit indictable offence. The male was arrested after he was disturbed by a business owner at a local caravan park in the early hours of Monday morning. The local man remains bail refused.
Moree Officer in Charge, Inspector Helen McWilliam said Police continued to target property crime, particularly in the Moree sector, and officers were making "good arrests".
"Police would like to thank the community for reporting suspicious behaviour, and we understand the impact this offending is having on the local community. Information and assistance provided by this communication has led to Police locating and holding these offenders to account," Insp McWilliam said.
"This offending is hugely upsetting to small-business owners and our community, and we would like to reassure them and the public that this is a priority and we will continue to focus on holding these offenders to account.
"We acknowledge how concerning it is that some of our property crime is being committed by youths. In addition to high visibility operations Police will continue to work in partnership with other agencies and schools to deter youth from offending."
