After the Matildas' thrilling win over Great Britain in the women's football quarter final on Friday night, the Dolphins backed it up with a medal-winning streak in the pool on Saturday.
Swimmer Kaylee McKeown claimed Australia's 10th gold medal of the Games with a win in the women's 200-metres backstroke.
Fellow Aussie Emily Seebohm won the bronze.
The pair shared a special moment at the medal ceremony when Seebohm presented McKeown with her gold medal, before they stood together on the podium's highest point as the national anthem played.
Soon after, Ariarne Titmus went on to claim the silver in the women's 800-metres freestyle, her fourth medal of the Games.
The winner, American Katie Ledecky, won the event for a third consecutive Olympics.
The Australian 4x100m mixed medley relay team - Kaylee McKeown, Zac Stubblety-Cook, Matthew Temple and Emma McKeon - finished in third place in the final to claim bronze.
Meanwhile, NSW recorded another death from COVID-19 and 210 locally acquired cases.
NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said on Saturday that he did not know whether the man had been tested for the virus before his death.
COVID-19 was also a concern in Queensland, with the state announcing a snap three-day lockdown for 11 LGAs after six locally acquired cases were recorded.
The lockdown included a ban on all sport in area, interrupting the NRL's plans for its round 20 games, with the five remaining games of the weekend postponed.
Tasmania has responded by shutting out southeast Queensland, closing its border to the affected part of the state and forcing some 11,000 recent arrivals from the mainland state into isolation.
