About 2.30am on Friday (February 19), two 2018 Toyota Hilux utilities were stolen from a garage in Bottlebrush Drive.
A short time later, one of the stolen vehicles was involved in a short pursuit with police. Officers attached to New England Police District abandoned the pursuit due to the dangerous nature of driving.
The Hilux was later found crashed into shrubs on Anne Street.
About 6am the same day, a man at a house in Boland Drive was confronted by several males, one allegedly threatening him with an iron bar. The man's Holden Commodore was then stolen.
The vehicle was damaged during the incident and was later found abandoned.
Following inquiries, two 14-year-old boys were arrested at a house in Anne Street, about 9.30am yesterday (Monday, February 22).
They were taken to Moree Police Station and charged with aggravated break, enter and steal (people there) and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
A short time later, a 15-year-old male was arrested at Moree Police Station. He was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal (in company), drive conveyance taken without consent of owner and drive never licensed.
The two 14-year-old boys were refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Tuesday, January 23).
The 15-year-old male was granted strict conditional bail to appear at the same court on Monday, April 12.
Acting Inspector Bennett Nolan from Moree Police Station said the arrests should serve as a warning to anyone who commits property crime in the area.
"We are committed to catching anyone who commits break and enter offences in this town, as it is a significant invasion of people's security and privacy to have their home broken into at any time, let alone when they are asleep inside," A/Insp Nolan said.
"We are focussing our resources from across the district on the Moree area and further arrests are anticipated. If you want to break into houses, you will eventually be caught."
