The business is locally owned and solely operated by Ardee Burling.

Ardee took over the business from Tania Clissold's hair salon two years ago.

"I owe the success of my business to all of my loyal clientele and Tania, without Tan I wouldn't be where I am today," Ardee said.

"In the time I have been working as a hairdresser, there are always changes happening in the industry, from new colours, the new styles, the lot you never know everything in the industry because there's always something new to learn".

When asked about working and living in a rural community, Ardee said was full of praise for our community.

"Moree is my home, I love everything about this place, probably my most favourite thing is, that it doesn't matter if you know someone or not you will always get a smile."

Over the last year, she said COVID-19 had definitely challenged both her and her business.

"It has made working a whole lot crazy," Ardee said. "I can't have the number of clients in at a time that I usually would so my work days seems much longer.

"To keep myself and my clients safe, I maintain social distancing between clients, have QR Code check in procedures and all styling stations, benches and waiting areas are disinfected and wiped over before and after every client."

Regarding winning the award Ardee said she wanted to thank Ann and Mark Turner for the nomination.

"Thank you for your continued support, you guys are awesome.

"I am very grateful to receive the award, it's nice to know my work doesn't go unrecognised. To everyone that voted, thank you very much, it's lovely knowing my hard work is getting noticed, thank you again."
