About 4am on Tuesday, January 12, two bicycles were stolen from within the front yard of a house on Tirzah Street, Moree.
The bicycles are described as a black and blue 'Merida' mountain bike and a red 'Giant' mountain bike with black markings.
The offenders also opened the unlocked doors to two vehicles parked outside and rummaged through them, however it is not believed anything was stolen from either vehicle.
Vehicles parked in the driveways of three other addresses in Greenbah Road, Myall Place and Melaleuca Close were also rummaged through overnight, after being left unlocked.
At the Myall Place address theives managed to steal a wallet, while at the Greenbah Road address a wallet and a bright pink 'Garmin' dog tacking collar were stolen. Police do not believe anything was stolen from the vehicle at Melaleuca Close.
Acting Inspector Bennett Nolan from Moree Police Station has urged residents to protect themselves from falling victim.
"While no one deserves to have their property stolen, residents can help us by making sure their cars are locked and their valuables are put inside overnight," Acting Inspector Nolan said.
"We will be stepping up patrols in the area and we particularly urge anyone who sees any suspicious activity to report it straight away, either to Moree Police Station on 02 6757 0799 or to triple 0 if a crime is occurring."
